About Us

My brother by our 1959 Christmas layoutWe're a small family company in Hagerstown MD. Our families have been model railroaders for generations and we enjoy the hobby ourselves.

This is our new online store, although we've been selling on line through eBay and Amazon for 20+ years. Our stock will grow rapidly over the next few months as we acquire more stock and expand our lines. With more trains than ever! Accessories, collectibles, models, kits, track and more!

We routinely have in excess of 20-30 miles of model railroad locomotives and rolling in physical stock, (scale miles that is).

Although much of our stock comes from manufactures and their official distributors, we also actively buy inventory from a variety of sources, See the "Do you have something to sell" link below if you would like to contact us about selling.   We also manufacture some of our own products.  Some are currently manufactured for us by others to our specifications, which we then label, include documentation, package and ship from our warehouse.  Will be expanding our in-house manufacturing activities over the next year.

While many other companies are cutting back and outsourcing their operations overseas, we believe the best course of action for our economy and country is to expand our company domestically.

Although we operate from a warehouse and do not have a storefront, recently, we've expanded our Internet footprint with this website, and we are now on Facebook, You Tube, Pinterest, Instagram, Linked-in, and other social sites and also regularly sell on eBay and Amazon.

We’ve also added a section for articles about model Railroading, railroad memorabilia, and related hobby activities.

Our History:

Up until Jeff, our company founder, was in the 6th grade he and his father, Elmer had a 4’ x 8’ platform.  They moved into a new house which had a room they dedicated to model railroading.  His father gave Jeff total control over the new train layout design.  It was an 8’ x 8’ with a walk way and an “L” shaped platform against the far two walls. The 8x8 section had three complete double track loops for the trains to run on, a small yard, a town and an 18” turntable to service a big boy that we never did wind up getting.

After graduating Jeff went to work and model railroad ans stamp collecting took a back seat to more important things like making money, cars, girls, and other activities. Since the age of 11 he has also been a stamp collector and it was restarted in his early 20's still is but his interest in model railroading waited a bit longer but had never disappeared.  As he and his wife started to raise a family, his interest started up again with small Christmas layouts that grew every year.

Completely by coincidence, his Father in-law was a railroad engineer with a huge collection of model railroad locomotives and rolling stock in HO and some O and S gauge model railroad equipment as well as a huge collection of railroad memorabilia with 50+ signs, 10 trolley fair boxes, 10K+ photos and negatives, 56K+ slides and videos as well as 8mm and 35mm film, 800+ books and magazines, 1500 stock certificates, buttons, pin and other insignia, 100+ lanterns ranging from the 1800’s to 1970s, conductor hats and badges, 30+ horns and steam whistles, Bus Subway and Trolley roll/destination signs, 10 full Xerox boxes of railroad tickets and transfer passes, 50+ pressure gauges from locomotives, a working GG1 Headlight!, brass throttle handles from a variety of locomotives, teletype keys, vintage Railroad detective badges, 240+ Engine number plates from retired engines, railroad locks, a huge inventoried collection of vintage railroad timetables, schedules, maps, paperwork, employee handbooks, yard maps/diagrams, engine and rolling stock diagrams and datasheets, blueprints, and more... He was also actively materially supporting several rail and trolley museums throughout the US.

And to answer the obvious question… no, none of his collection is for sale.

We've wanted to build this site for a while and it too has become a family project/endeavor. Luckily we have family in that business too. Our children, all grown now, also take an active part in product development, this site and our sales online.

Jeff’s brother-in-law also does model railroad repairs on locomotives, rolling stock and other items and runs two well detailed HO scale model railroad platforms in semi-retirement.

In 2000 Jeff started selling on line, stamps, computer parts, and of course model railroad trains. Shortly after that he inherited control of his father-in-law’s collection(s).  Jeff tried to buy an old railroad station near his home, for a combination museum and model railroad and stamp shop.  He called the realtor to give a verbal offer but was beat to it by less than 30 minutes! The new owner gutted it to make a house for his in-laws and it never happened so the gutted shell is just used for storage and the owner still won’t sell it.

Jeff’s still hoping that one day he can buy it or another station or suitable building to house the collection.  His father-in-law had some very bad experiences in the past and made promise not to “lend anything to a museum or anyone for anything. If you want it on display, you display it yourself.”
